• I have worked alongside Maxine for 3 years now. In that time, she has shown a great capacity for storytelling. Her art tells a strong intense narrative, but in a tongue and cheek way that makes it approachable for the general audience. She displays her personal experiences and pushes the envelope further with her work.

• Maxine often looks at her ideas from an abstract point of view, creating paintings with limited colour palettes and tactile, multilayered sculptures. Her work is often satirical and with a wry humour making comment on society, life, as well as topical and political ideas, leading the observer to look at these topics from a different perspective.
